Network Like A Pro

Hello friends,

Today, let's talk about practical steps that make you a networking pro. Although networking may seem scary, to be honest it does not need to be. We invite you to look at networking as an opportunity to learn about yourself and others. Even if you are networking to find a new job, try to remove the pressure on yourself by approaching others with an open mind and from a mental place of peace rather than anxiety or thinking about what they can give you. Doing so would make your networking experience a lot easier!

Here are some tips to help you network like a pro:

Attend networking events: The ultimate first step attend events where you can meet other professionals in your industry or field. These events can be conferences, seminars, trade shows, or meetups.

Be prepared: Before attending any networking event, prepare yourself. Read up on what the event is about, who the speakers/participants are, and think about what you are bringing to the “table.” Have your elevator pitch ready, business cards on hand, and dress professionally.

Listen and engage: When you meet someone, listen to them and ask questions about their business or industry. Engage in conversation and show genuine interest in their work.

Follow up: After the event, follow up with the people you met. Send a personalized message, connect with them on LinkedIn, or schedule a follow-up meeting. Don't forget to thank them for any time spent in conversation with you.

Be authentic: Be yourself and don't try to be someone you're not. Your goal is not to impress people. People will be impressed by the authentic you so don’t worry about that.

Remember, networking is not just about collecting business cards or making small talk. Networking is also NOT about approaching people simply for what they can give you. This can be very off putting because the subliminal message you would send is that those people don’t matter to you and you are only reaching out to them because of their job or position within the organization of your dreams and not because you care about who they are as a person. Networking is about potentially building long-term relationships based on trust and mutual respect. It takes time and effort to build meaningful relationships through networking, but the rewards can be significant.

So when you go to an event or meet people of interest – focus on getting to know them, and enjoy your time there. Keep practising, and you'll become a networking pro in no time! At Konseye: The Mentorship Network, we offer opportunities to network through our group mentoring sessions and peer-to-peer mentoring. Utilizing these tips will certainly prove beneficial in building meaningful relationships.

Remember: with the right network, anything is possible!

Have a wonderful week,

Team Konseye

People who share the same frequency form networks when they communicate with each other, not just one of them. Thanks for sharing those useful tips with us ❤

I agree Damayanti "people with the same frequency form networks when they communicate with each other", people can also form networks from just being open-minded and curios too.
