Uchechi (Uche) Anyanwu has spent her career working at the intersection of law, governance, and accountability - and that intersection keeps expanding. At IFES, she drove electoral integrity and anti-corruption initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA, Asia, and Eurasia, managing multi-donor portfolios, overseeing program accountability across multiple countries, and designing training programs and toolkits on anti-corruption, political finance, and electoral integrity. Before that, she supported a $10M+ humanitarian portfolio with the Embassy of Switzerland in Nigeria, working in conflict-affected Northeastern states. She built her professional foundation through legal, international development, and human rights work, including at GIZ, the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ), ESCR-Net, and the judiciary. Across every role, Uche has focused on one core strength: translating complex systems into practical frameworks that help people and institutions make better, more accountable decisions. A non-practicing attorney, she now brings that to corporate privacy and AI governance as a Senior Specialist, focusing on AI governance and privacy program management. Uche's path wasn't straight. She made sectoral, geographic, and role pivots - sometimes all at once.
