Session Description

Shingi Masanzu is a Senior Counsel at the World Bank's Legal Department. In this role, she has advised on sovereign lending and guarantee operations in sectors ranging from infrastructure and energy to education, health and governance, with experience in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. In addition to being a development finance lawyer, Shingi is a PhD researcher at the London School of Economics, where her research examines infrastructure deal-making in African countries. Before joining the World Bank, Shingi worked as an associate at a New York law firm, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets. She holds an LLB (magna cum laude) and Post-Graduate Diploma (Public Law) from the University of Cape Town, and an LLM (International Legal Studies) from New York University School of Law, where she was a Hauser Global Scholar.
