Hello Friends,
Happy Monday! As we continue our December community theme, we’re excited to spotlight two incredible Konseye members: Chinedu and Karimah. While they come from distinctly different fields - Chinedu is navigating the legal world, and Karimah is leading an edtech startup, they share something powerful: a commitment to making a real difference in the world, whether through academia, technology, or leadership. Here’s a look at their reflections on 2024!
Meet Chinedu Collins Aguocha (Nigeria) - Counsel
Any exciting projects you’ve worked on or are currently working on?
Yes! I am working on the draft of an article on climate change, with a particular focus on the law of the sea. I have also completed another article on international dispute resolution, which I hope to have published before the year 2024 expires.

What’s been your highlight of 2024?
I have more than one highlight for 2024. Of significance was discovering and joining Konseye: The Mentorship Network. A few mentorship sessions I have attended in Konseye have clarified some confusion I had about my career path in international law. My sessions with Shingi Masanzu and Adejoké Babington-Ashaye were worth every second. I feel truly privileged to be part of Konseye.
Why is mentoring important to you?
Getting the perspective of people who have passed through a stage to which you aspire is always refreshing. Mentorship helps to guide your path and avoid mistakes your mentors made during their journey. Indeed, the importance of mentorship cannot be overemphasized.
What’s your personal motto you live by?
My slogan is “No to procrastination.” The more you postpone a goal or task, the faster the likelihood of achieving it wanes.
Meet Karimah Lawal (Nigeria) - Entrepreneur & Brand Specialist
Any exciting projects you’ve worked on or are currently working on?
I’m currently working on relaunching my startup (Skillsard) and guiding it through the next phase. Skillsard is an edtech idea focused on empowering youths with various handicraft skills towards the preparation of the labour market.
What’s been your highlight of 2024?
I have so many highlights. A lot has happened and is still happening, from finishing the 2024 leadership program at United People Global to completing my MBA in Business Administration at the Lagos Business School to receiving a lot of awards and getting engaged!

Why is mentoring important to you?
I'm a beneficiary of good mentorship, so I know firsthand what it means to be mentored and a lot of goodies and direction that comes with it.
What’s your personal motto you live by?
You don’t stop when you’re tired, you stop when you’re done.
Chinedu and Karimah’s reflections on 2024 are very thought-provoking. Their journeys, though rooted in different fields, reveal a shared truth: the power of purpose-driven work and the ripple effect it creates. Chinedu’s focus on addressing global issues through law and Karimah’s passion for equipping youth with practical skills both highlight how personal vision, when coupled with mentorship, can lead to profound impact. What struck me most were their personal mottos: Chinedu’s “No to procrastination” and Karimah’s “You don’t stop when you’re tired, you stop when you’re done.” These words reflect the discipline and perseverance that drive success and serve as reminders of how our mindset shapes our outcomes.
Thank you Chinedu and Karimah for inspiring us! It is a privilege to witness your growth and dedication! Friends - did you see something that inspired you? Share your thoughts in the comments, connect with Chinedu and Karimah, and stay connected with Konseye - a global community dedicated to personal and professional growth.
Remember: With The Right Network, Anything Is Possible.™
Have a wonderful week,
Adejoké
