Dear Friends,
We are inching closer to January, also known as “resolution month,” where we set goals for what we will and will not do in the new year. But we can set all the goals we want, whether we accomplish them or not is down to the fraternal twins: resilience and consistency.
Resilience: The Pillar of Progress
In the face of challenges, resilience stands as the pillar that supports progress. Rather than seeing setbacks as roadblocks, view them as stepping stones. Resilience ensures you not only endure challenges but emerge stronger. But how can we cultivate resilience especially when setbacks really…set us back? A couple of tips to consider:
Breathe and Recoup: You have survived 100% of your worst days. This is not the end. You have what it takes to bounce back even if you have to take a moment to catch your breath. Nurture yourself by surrounding yourself with those who support your dreams, meditating, or doing exercise, arts and crafts to build up your happy hormones.
Reflect: What worked and what did not work, and why? Take a moment to analyse the “set back.” Sometimes in the heat of the moment a set back looks like a major roadblock preventing us from achieving our dreams. But it really could be a deviation to a better path. Talk with a trusted advisor or bring your specific concern to one of our Konseye Mentors. A fresh pair of eyes can give you new perspectives.
Consistency: The Silent Achiever
Consistency is the silent force that propels you toward your goals. It is not the occasional burst of effort that yields success, but the steady and daily grind. It is important to establish and maintain a routine that is aligned with your objectives.
There is symbiosis of resilience and consistency. These qualities work in tandem. Resilience provides the strength to endure the marathon, while consistency lays the path for incremental progress. Celebrate the small victories along the way, for they form the stepping stones to your ultimate triumph.
As you craft your goals for the upcoming year, remember that resilience and consistency are not just virtues; they are strategies. Be strategic about your future. Embrace setbacks as opportunities to learn, adjust your sails when needed, but persist with unwavering commitment.
Let Maya Angelou’s words guide you:
“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter defeats so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how that you still can come out of it.”
Have a great week!
Remember, with the right network, anything is possible!
