Setting the Stage for a Remarkable 2024!

Dear Friends,

As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it is the perfect juncture to not just set goals but to lay a robust foundation for the twelve months ahead. Here is a three-step roadmap, building on the previous #MondayMusings to prepare you for an exceptional 2024.  

• Craft Your Career Vision Board

Delve into the art of creating a career vision board as we suggested in our #MondayMusing of 4 December. Whether it is a virtual board (using online tools such as Canva and MilaNote), or a physical board with magazine clippings allow your imagination to run wild! If you cannot see it…. How can you be it? This visual representation of your aspirations serves as a daily reminder of your goals. It is not just about what you want to achieve but also about who you want to become. As Michelle Obama said: “When we are able to recognize our own light, we become empowered to use it.”

• Reflect on Your Journey in 2023 

Drawing inspiration from our blog post on December 11th, take a moment to reflect on the milestones, challenges, and lessons of the past year. What worked, what did not work? What caused you to pivot? When did you feel most inspired? What made you feel like abandoning everything? What brought you back from the brink of despair? Acknowledge your growth and recognize areas for improvement. This self-awareness is the compass guiding your future decisions.

And friends - please try to reflect on your 2023 journey in the most loving and the kindest way possible. Sometimes we can be our own greatest critics and fail to acknowledge our wins. Celebrate your wins as if you were celebrating someone else. Envelop any feelings of disappointment with the encouragement you would give to a friend. In other words: Big up yourself! You deserve it - you have come this far! Let your reflections shed light!  

• Connect with Your Mentors 

Reach out to your mentors, including those from Konseye: The Mentorship Network. Share your insights from your career vision board and the reflections on your year. Express gratitude for their guidance and highlight the pivotal role they have played in your journey thus far.
