Hi Friends,
Welcome to another week and the final month of 2025. If you're like me you're probably wondering where 2025 disappeared to so quickly and why. You're probably also preparing to take stock of the year: "Did I accomplish my goals this year?" "Have I set myself up for a strong 2026?" "Do I feel proud of myself or am I disappointed that I didn't do as much as the other person?" "How much can I do in the remaining weeks?"
Whatever thoughts are swirling as we step into the last 31 days of 2025, let this month’s #MondayMusing be your steady guide to help you finish strong. And before you assume we’re here to push you into a frantic final sprint cramming in goals, chasing last-minute wins, or planning so far ahead that you miss the significance of this moment, friend, let me reassure you: that’s not our approach.
As we journey to the end of the year, consider this the calm, grounding voice reminding you that finishing strong isn’t about rushing. It’s about finishing well - thoughtfully, intentionally, and at peace with yourself.
So this week, we begin with a simple message: Yes, the year is ending. Take stock without stress.
Let’s get into it.
1. What quiet win is worth acknowledging?
You don’t need to have launched a business, secured a promotion, or graduated top of your class to have had a meaningful year. If we learnt anything from the Konseye Career Impact Summit in November it is realizing that the small wins are extremely meaningful. So what could a small win look like to you?
Maybe you finally set a personal or work boundary.
Maybe you learned how to say “no” without sending an apologetic paragraph afterwards.
Maybe you showed up consistently, even on days your motivation was on annual leave.
Maybe you stuck through various challenges and finished what you said you would do.
Maybe you stepped outside your comfort zone briefly and realized you liked it.
Whatever seems small to you - celebrate it. As Dr. Shingi Masanzu reminded us during her Dear Younger Me segment, do not despise the small beginnings. These small or baby steps are creating foundations you will need for where you want to go. Don't focus on the "big win".
Don't say - I will celebrate when I [fill in the gap]."
Say - I will celebrate that I have [fill in the blanks].
What quiet win is worth acknowledging? Write 1 or 2 down and celebrate them.
2. What relationships need nurturing or redefining?
Your career growth is shaped by the people around you. As you take stock of the year, consider your professional relationships: mentors, colleagues, collaborators, supporters, even the people you follow online who influence your thinking.
Ask yourself:
Who poured into me this year and how can I appreciate or reconnect with them?
Who challenges me to grow in healthy ways, and how can I deepen that relationship?
Which relationships drain me or no longer align with where I’m heading? Is it time to create distance, clarify boundaries, or shift how I engage?
Nurturing the right connections (and gently redefining the unhelpful ones) is one of the smartest investments you can make for the year ahead.
Take stock and make your notes but also pause and ask yourself: whatever you’re saying about others, could they genuinely say the same about you? As you honour those who poured into you in 2025 and helped you grow, consider whether you would make the list for someone else doing their own reflection. And if not, ask yourself: What can I do differently to become the kind of person others are grateful for at the end of the year? That’s part of growth too.
3. What goal did I let go of and why?
This is a no judgment zone - every year we all have goals and aspiration and we start off strong with the best of intentions. In fact, without you telling me I am sure you already have some goals lined up for January. Well before you jump into goal setting, let's take stock of goals you set at the end of 2024 or beginning of 2025. Did you fulfill them? Did you change your mind because they were no longer relevant? Or have you forgotten them?
There are no wrong answers - the most important thing is knowing your WHY. This is central to being intentional about your growth.
So if you set off to achieve a bunch of things this year but you didn't do any of them - why? Your why will give you a lot of insight into yourself and self awareness. It will also tell you what you need to do differently or which safeguards you need to put in place if you are serious about those goals.
And let's examine those goals themselves.
Which projects or expectations have expired?
What am I holding onto because of guilt, fear, or comparison?
What can I consciously release so I have energy for what actually matters?
These are questions to ask yourself in your stock taking activity because at the end of the day strategy and intentionality are your important tools in your growth toolbox. Be strategic about letting things drop from your list of goals.
Bringing It All Together
As you sit with these reflections this week, remember that taking stock isn’t about judging yourself, comparing your pace to someone else’s, or forcing a neatly wrapped narrative onto a year that may have felt anything but neat.
Because let's be real - you will see several social media posts in the coming weeks listing out long and flashy accolades and achievements. Resist the pressure to conform or the pressure to condemn yourself if your list is not as long or flashy.
Instead, choose presence. Choose clarity. Choose compassion for the version of you who navigated 2025 with the wisdom you had at every step. Celebrate the you who did the small thing. You will thank yourself for taking these steps to finish 2025 grounded ... and strong.
See you next Monday for part two! In the meantime, have a great week and remember: With The Right Network Anything Is Possible. Stay connected with the Konseye community - dedicated to supporting your career and personal growth (www.konseye.org)
